Some beautiful new pictures of @house_for_a_forest are coming out. taken by the wonderful @studio.abrakadabra. House for a forest is Norway’s first hempcrete house where Matera began and where our knowledge of the many materials we sell was gathered first hand. Losæter and The Flatbread Society Bakehouse are also featured in the New Nordic exhibition at the National Museum. Matera and Losæter will now collaborate on extending the life of the Flatbread society building. Flatbread meets hempcrete, the bread of building materials. The Losæters volunteer community will begin preparing the site over the coming weeks and from June 16-18th Matera will host an open workshop on hempcrete at the site. This week we’ve also been busy applying @claytec_lehmbaustoffe base coat plaster with chopped straw or reed mats at @svingen_4 . For this restoration of a 19th century house in gamlebyen we are also supplying Hempcrete from @ekolution and @isohemp_naturalbuilding , insulating cork plaster from @diasen_official , and 3layer plates from @binderholzgroup . Thanks to our lovely clients and to @madarkitekter @sane__bymad for the opportunity.

Still a little hungover from the National Museum party last night, we had great fun this morning installing hempcrete blocks and hemp shiv in the window of @newmovements at @steenogstromoslo. We love these unconventional opportunities to showcase beautiful and sustainable materials. More to come from this collaboration!

Two models and a vitrine of material samples are now on show as part of the New Nordic exhibition at the national museum. Thanks to @nasjonalmuseet for a lovely opening party last night and the honour of being showcased in this beautiful exhibition. Thanks to our collaborator @_uprootedstudio for the stunning work on the model of Multispeices Neighbourhoods. Thanks also to @diasen_official @ekolution @claytec_lehmbaustoffe @hamransnekkerverksted for donating materials and for our ongoing collaborations in bio based material craft.
